Marathon Pace Charts

How deep in the pain cave can you go? The marathon is the jewel of long distance running, and tests the physical and mental reserves more than any other distance. Very few can just rock up and run 26.2 miles without putting in some serious training and planning in the months beforehand. According to myth, the first person to complete the distance fell over and died at the finish line. The gold standard for the amateur is the magic sub 3 hour mark. Men’s and women’s world records stand at 2.01:39 (Eliud Kipchoge) and 2:14:04 (Brigid Kosgei) respectively.
